In the past few weeks, we have been covering ways you can go about integrating Pinterest into WordPress. Pinterest is a fast rising social network and can bring many new visitors to your website. Adding a Pinterest “Pin It” button is the least you can do to make your site Pinterest-friendly. Unfortunately, the default code provided on the site is a work in progress. I mentioned in an earlier article how the default Pinterest button did not automatically grab the first image from my posts. There is an easy way around that. The Pinterest “Pin It” Button plugin is a much better solution though. It actually grabs all the images in your posts and gives your visitors the option to choose which one they want to pin.
The Pinterest “Pin It” Button is a painless solution for bloggers just getting started with this social network. It lets you add a Pin It button to the top or bottom of your posts. It also has a shortcode for manual button insertion. Users can add the “Pin It” button to static and archive pages. Once someone clicks on these buttons, they are given a list of photos to choose from. It’s as simple as that.
The Pinterest “Pin It” Button plugin is still not perfect. We would love to be able to customize the default description for pinned stories. Pinterest does need to step it up in this area. There is a lot more it can offer to help out publishers with the integration process. Thanks to the above plugin, you will have an easier time adding Pinterest to your site though.
