As bloggers, we all would love to get more comments on our sites. Some of us don’t do a good job managing comments our sites get though. There are many folks out there waiting for you to slip up so they can inject their links into your site for various reasons. If you already have a site that gets a lot of comments with bogus links, you can use these plugins to remove the links and clean your comments:
Remove links from comments: removes the website field in your comments. It keeps the external links on your website to a minimum. This might discourage some of your commenters, so you want to test this carefully.
No Comment Links: disables automatic parsing and creation of clickable links in comments. The plugin disables HTTP, FTP , and email links.
Disable Author URL and Comment Links: want to disable both author and comment links? This plugin helps you with that. You can white-list websites you don’t mind linking to.
IntenseDebate: we use IntenseDebate and Disqus to manage comments on our websites. IntenseDebate lets you disable automatic link parsing.
Not all comments are spam, so you should be careful how you approach your comment cleanup process. You need to actively keep an eye on the comments people are leaving on your site though.
