How to Add Post Recommendations to WordPress: 7 Ways

📌 MemberPress: advanced WordPress plugin for subscriptions & membership sites

We all would love our visitors to stay on our site for as long as possible. Many of your visitors will leave after reading your articles unless you give them a reason to stay. I have already covered why you should consider adding related posts to your website. Here are 7 ways to offer post recommendations to keep your visitors on your site for longer:

Where did they go from here: one of my favorite plugins. It automatically tracks the pages or posts visitors click through and will display those to your future visitors.

Facebook Recommendations: many tops sites are already using this to recommend posts to their visitors. Just download Facebook’s plugin to add this feature to your site.

Author Recommended Posts: want more control on what gets recommended to your visitors? This plugin is for you. You get to pick and choose your post recommendations.

WordPress Popular Posts: one of the best popular posts plugins around. It can be easily customized to show top posts for each category by comments and views.

Reverb for WordPress: it adds related content to your posts automatically. It scans your blog, learns what it is about, and displays related posts based on that information.

Wibiya: one of the best social toolbars around. It gives you a lot of ways to target your audience. Its Recommendations module is pretty decent too.

Ramon Posts + Foobar: this is an approach I have used in the past with a lot of success. Plugins such as Random Posts allow you to display posts by tags, categories, and based on age. Foobar lets you display updates at the top of each page so your visitors won’t miss them.

You will need killer content for your post recommendations to get a whole lot of attention. The above plugins make recommending posts to your visitors much easier.
