In the past few months, we have covered a bunch of handy plugins that let you automatically choose a featured image for each post and even change featured images of old posts. What if you are interested in using an image not in your media library as the featured image of a post? These 2 plugins let you do just that:
Featured Image From URL: allows you to use an image from Flickr, Amazon S3, and other places as Featured Image of your post. It is compatible with WooCommerce.
External Featured Image Plus: lets you enable/disable external featured images for different post types. It lets you define custom caption and alt text for images. It is RSS friendly too.
